Italian Greyhounds - Grooming Requirements
Italian Greyhounds are easy to groom. The breed sheds little to no hair. A rubdown with a piece of toweling may be all that is needed to keep the dog's silky coat shining. Bathe only when necessary. The Italian Greyhound's teeth should be brushed on a regular basis to prevent tarter from building up. Clip the dog's nails regularly.

Some claim that the breed was dwarfed for pet purposes from a Gazehound. The early ancestors of the Italian Greyhound breed were used for hunting small game, rodents and other vermin. Italian Greyhounds were very popular pets in England in the 16th century.
