They are not used to outdoor environment, and there should be no attempts to get them out of the house in cold, rainy or windy weather. They hate wetness, and they are prone to catching a cold. These delicate creatures are not intended for hard labor or tough assignments.

They are not suitable for those who view a dog as an ever-obedient and submissive creature. In this respect, Italian Greyhounds are more like cats.
